6. Partnership with God & Angels
|
|
Si and Will had grown up together, and as far back as they could remember they had loved to work on cars. In their early twenties, Si and Will decided to open a car repair shop. They felt sure they could make a living for their growing families. "Let's form a partnership," Si suggested. "We'll both put money into machinery and tools, and we'll both work in the shop. Then we'll split the profits in half." Through the years the two men didn't always have equal shares in the partnership. Si put more money into the business than Will. But Will worked longer hours than Si. But the men never complained about their business relationship together. They continued to share equal profits, and both families prospered. Christ's Object Lessons, p. 373: "God and Christ and angels are all ministering to the afflicted, the suffering, and the sinful. Give yourself to God for this work, use His gifts for this purpose, and you enter into partnership with heavenly beings. . . . When earthly things shall have passed away, the watchers at heaven's gates will bid you welcome." We show God that we accept our partnership with Heaven when we return His tithes, and give Him offerings of time, talents, and money to support His work. And in this way we show that we are His faithful stewards.
