MIRACLES STILL HAPPEN

One California woman stood helplessly by while a swarm of grasshoppers ate everything in sight—except her Investment garden.

A British Columbia, Canada, man dedicated 2% of the gross intake from his fishing business. He had only one boat at the time, but through the years his fleet has expanded to 15 ocean-going vessels, and in a recent year his offerings for Investment rose to over $30,000.

A fax machine salesman decided to give a certain amount for every unit he sold. Not long after he made this decision he wrote up an order for over 200 machines—the largest order in his company's history.

A writer dedicates a percentage of his income from his salary to Investment. Through the years he has brought hundreds of dollars into the fund.

A man about to lose his job told the Lord he would give half of any increase in salary to investment. Through the years as he received raises, he gave half of the raise to Investment. One recent year he gave $56,000 to Investment!

God has given us a way to raise money to finance His great work. By putting forth effort we can greatly increase the amount we give to His cause. And together we can have a part in the world-work God has given us.

The stories and experiences related in this book took place over a number of years. I gathered them between 1992 and 1999 as I wrote the Investment column—first for Celebration and more recently for Sabbath School Leadership. Some of the people portrayed here are no longer able to take part in Investment due to infirmity or age, and some have died. But all of them have given us a legacy of dedication to the challenge of providing financial support for the great mission task the Lord has given us.

Though this book was designed with the Invest-ment leader in mind, every person who has an interest in Investment will find a wealth of ideas that should keep them Investing for years to come.
